Álvaro Morata Leads Rebuild of UD Aldaia CF After Storm DANA Devastation
The UD Aldaia CF football club in the Valencian town of Aldaia faced complete destruction after the powerful Storm DANA swept through the region in October. The catastrophic flooding left the club’s facilities in ruins, washing away sports equipment, destroying the artificial pitch, and severely damaging the changing rooms and stands.
To restore the club and its operations, Álvaro Morata, captain of Spain’s national team and Atletico Madrid star, has pledged significant financial support. The reconstruction project aims to install a new artificial pitch, rebuild the changing room area, construct stands, and replace all the lost sports equipment.
The total cost of the project is estimated to range between €350,000 and €400,000. Morata has taken the lead in funding the initiative, with additional contributions from fellow Spain players whom he has personally contacted for support.
Morata’s philanthropic efforts are being spearheaded through the Álvaro Morata Foundation, which carefully evaluated the situation and decided to help rebuild UD Aldaia CF’s facilities. This initiative not only underscores his dedication to grassroots football but also showcases his commitment to supporting communities impacted by natural disasters.
Once completed, the project will restore a vital community hub and provide young players with the resources to develop their talents in a professional and safe environment. The rebuild is set to create lasting benefits for the local area, highlighting the positive role football can play in recovery and community resilience.
