Real Madrid Dominates Deloitte Money League with Record €1 Billion Revenue in 2023-24 Season

Real Madrid continues to establish itself as one of the best-managed football clubs globally, guided by its visionary president, Florentino Pérez. Recently confirmed to remain in his role until 2029, Pérez has overseen an impressive period of success both on and off the pitch.
In the latest Deloitte Money League rankings, released on Thursday, Real Madrid claimed the top spot, as reported by ESPN. The club generated an astounding €1 billion in revenue during the 2023-24 season, surpassing second-placed Manchester City by over €200 million.
Breaking down the numbers, Real Madrid amassed nearly €250 million from matchday revenue and €316 million from television rights. Remarkably, the club also secured €500 million from commercial activities, solidifying its position as the leader in this category for the season.
Barcelona, the next highest La Liga club, ranks sixth in the Deloitte Money League standings, trailing Real Madrid, Manchester City, Paris Saint-Germain, Manchester United, and Bayern Munich. However, Barcelona’s matchday revenue was €140 million lower than their fierce rivals due to their temporary departure from Spotify Camp Nou, which they expect to return to by the season’s end.
Atletico Madrid placed 12th in the rankings, generating €409.5 million, less than half of Real Madrid’s earnings. Atletico’s commercial revenue also lags significantly behind other top European clubs, highlighting an area where the club must improve to remain competitive on the global stage.
For Spanish football, these rankings come as no surprise, with Real Madrid consistently leading the charge in financial performance. The club’s robust revenues not only reinforce its dominance in European football but also enable it to invest heavily in the transfer market, as it may do in the upcoming summer window.
