PSG Set to Offer Arsenal Randal Kolo Muani Loan Deal Amid Bukayo Saka Injury Woes

Paris Saint-Germain is reportedly prepared to offer Arsenal a solution to their recent injury crisis involving Bukayo Saka by loaning out Randal Kolo Muani, an out-of-favor forward, during the January transfer window.

Arsenal has been dealt a significant blow with the news that Bukayo Saka, one of their star players, will be sidelined for several weeks due to a hamstring tear. Saka, 23, has been a key figure for the Gunners, clocking the fourth-highest minutes among their outfield players this season. His absence has left Arsenal without a natural right winger, presenting manager Mikel Arteta with a pressing challenge.

The French champions PSG may offer a timely solution in Randal Kolo Muani. The 26-year-old forward, signed for £64.2 million in the summer of 2023 from Eintracht Frankfurt, has struggled for game time under Luis Enrique. Initially expected to play a pivotal role following Kylian Mbappé’s departure, Kolo Muani has only started two Ligue 1 matches this season and has played just 28 minutes over the past month.

With limited opportunities at PSG, the French international, who remains under contract until 2028, is now available for a loan move. Reports from the Evening Standard indicate that PSG plans to offer Kolo Muani to several clubs in January, including Arsenal.

Arsenal’s dilemma is further compounded by Raheem Sterling’s unavailability due to injury, as Sterling could have stepped in for Saka in their Boxing Day clash against Ipswich Town. When questioned about signing a potential replacement for Saka, Mikel Arteta emphasized prioritizing internal solutions within the squad but remained open to external opportunities.

“My focus is on maximizing the resources we already have to stay competitive,” Arteta said. “If something extraordinary becomes available, and the club supports it, we’ll evaluate it.”

Arteta also highlighted that Arsenal had planned for potential injuries to key players earlier in the season, following the loss of Martin Ødegaard to a long-term injury. However, simultaneous injuries to both Saka and Sterling were unforeseen.

“We’ve prepared for such situations, though we anticipated challenges elsewhere, such as in the defensive line,” Arteta explained. “But if something needs to be done in January, we’ll remain open to exploring options.”

With the January transfer window approaching, PSG’s offer of Randal Kolo Muani could provide Arsenal with a short-term solution to navigate the demanding second half of the season without Saka.
