Jack Grealish’s January Transfer: Five Possible Destinations to Revive His Career Amid Man City Struggles

Jack Grealish could be on the verge of a January move as he struggles for form and fitness at Manchester City. The England winger, who hasn’t scored since December 2023, has seen limited action under Pep Guardiola this season, starting only six Premier League games.

Since returning from injury in November, Grealish has been overshadowed by young talent Savinho, who impressed with two assists in City’s win over West Ham. After the match, Guardiola questioned Grealish’s fitness, saying:
“Savinho is in better shape than Jack, and that’s why I played him. Do I want the Jack that won the Treble? Of course, but I have to be honest with myself.”

As speculation mounts, here are five potential destinations for Grealish to reignite his career:

1. Arsenal

Mikel Arteta is looking to strengthen Arsenal’s attack with Bukayo Saka sidelined by injury. While Arsenal already boasts Leandro Trossard and Gabriel Martinelli on the left, Grealish could bring creative depth. However, Arteta may prioritize a right-sided player for balance.

2. Tottenham Hotspur

Spurs have long been linked with Grealish and could revisit their interest as they seek to bolster their squad. With Son Heung-min past his peak and Timo Werner struggling, Grealish could fit in perfectly. Tottenham may consider a loan deal, but Grealish’s hefty £300,000-a-week wages could complicate a permanent move.

3. Newcastle United

On the rise towards European glory, Newcastle could make Grealish their marquee signing. While they already have Anthony Gordon and Harvey Barnes on the left, the club might opt for a right winger to replace Miguel Almiron. Still, Grealish’s star power and versatility could make him a valuable addition.

4. Aston Villa

A return to Aston Villa, where Grealish began his career, could be on the cards. Although his last visit to Villa Park was marred by boos, the club’s Champions League qualification and top-four ambitions could entice him. With John McGinn playing out of position on the left, Villa could benefit from Grealish’s creativity.

5. Manchester United

A shock move to Manchester United could be an intriguing option. Grealish would remain in Manchester and fit into Ruben Amorim’s 3-4-3 system as a versatile winger or No. 10. While City may hesitate to strengthen their rivals, the deal could help offload Grealish’s significant wages.
