Barcelona Set to Secure Jonathan Tah from Bayer Leverkusen in 2025, Beating Bayern Munich

Barcelona has been actively negotiating with Bayer Leverkusen to secure the signing of highly-rated centre-back Jonathan Tah. With his contract set to expire next summer, Barcelona has convinced Tah to join the club, with a pre-contract deal expected to be signed in the coming days.

Real Madrid had also shown interest in the German international, while Bayern Munich, who attempted to sign him last summer, remains another potential suitor. However, despite Bayern’s financial strength, reports suggest Tah has decided to move to Barcelona, where he will add depth to their defense.

Although Tah has yet to formally sign his deal, sources indicate that Barcelona is already planning for his arrival. In preparation, the club is expected to offload players like Eric Garcia and Andreas Christensen next summer to make space for their new signing.

This season, Tah has been in exceptional form for Bayer Leverkusen, making 25 appearances in the Bundesliga and Champions League and scoring twice. His experience under Xabi Alonso and familiarity with Hansi Flick, his former manager with the German national team, make him a valuable asset to Barcelona’s defense as they aim to strengthen their squad for the 2025 season.
