Tyrell Malacia Rejected Premier League Move Before Securing PSV Eindhoven Transfer

Tyrell Malacia turned down a Premier League move before finalizing his loan transfer to PSV Eindhoven, according to reports
The 25-year-old Manchester United left-back has struggled with injuries, managing just nine appearances since the start of last season. With Patrick Dorgu arriving from Lecce, Malacia was deemed surplus to requirements under Ruben Amorim, leading to a deadline-day switch to PSV.
Reports from Dutch outlet Voetbal Verslaafd claim that Wolverhampton Wanderers were also keen on signing Malacia as they battle relegation. However, he opted to join PSV instead, aiming to contribute to their Eredivisie title defense.
Speaking about his move, Malacia expressed excitement about returning to competitive football.
“I’m happy to be here. Finally playing good football again. I’ve overcome a long injury, but now I’m fit and ready to compete. This period has made me stronger physically and mentally, and I’m eager to help PSV win trophies,” Malacia said.
PSV’s director of football affairs, Earnest Stewart, praised Malacia’s experience and potential.
“We’re thrilled to welcome Tyrell. He brings top-level experience and immediate quality to our squad. We look forward to seeing him in action,” Stewart stated.
Meanwhile, at Manchester United, Patrick Dorgu is set to take over the left-back role following Luke Shaw’s recent injury setback. Dorgu, who recently joined from Lecce, expressed pride in signing for the Red Devils.
“It’s an honor to be a Manchester United player. I’m excited to work under Ruben Amorim and develop my game in a structured plan that aligns with my ambitions,” said Dorgu.
With Malacia now focused on his PSV journey, Manchester United will be hoping Dorgu can solidify their left-back position amid ongoing squad changes.
