Real Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti has expressed his desire to stay at the club for another four years, but acknowledged that the decision about his future isn’t his to make. The 65-year-old Italian is regarded as one of football’s greatest managers, having won five Champions League trophies and numerous league titles, including the Premier League, La Liga, Ligue 1, Bundesliga, and Serie A.

While rumors have linked him with a move to the Brazil national team in the past, Ancelotti has remained with Madrid since rejoining the club in 2021. As he approaches his 66th birthday this summer, there has been speculation about his potential retirement, but the veteran coach insists he is committed to Madrid for the foreseeable future.
“I want to make it very clear,” said Ancelotti. “My departure date will never be decided by me. It could be tomorrow, next year, or in five years—it’s not for me to decide. I hope to stay for another four years, alongside Florentino Pérez, and we can say goodbye together with love.”
Rumors in Spain also suggested that Ancelotti had informed the club of his intention to leave this summer, with Bayer Leverkusen’s Xabi Alonso reportedly lined up as his successor. However, Ancelotti’s focus remains on adding more titles to his collection, with Madrid leading La Liga and competing in both the Champions League and Copa del Rey.
Currently, Madrid are favorites to retain both La Liga and the Champions League titles, boosted by the signing of Kylian Mbappé, who has scored 18 goals so far this season.
